Bad Ballast?

So I purchased a used 36" 2x250 MH with 2x39w T5 system. It worked great for about 4 days. When I went to turn it on the other day, the gfi tripped.

Each time I plug it into a gfi, regardless of whether or not the ballast is even turned on, it trips the gfi.

Is this a bad ballast or could something else be wrong?

have you tried to plug something else into the outlet?

Hey Shaun I just didnot have the time to stop by man, try pluging in something else on the GFI otherwise the fixture has a problem.

no prob Steve...I am pretty sure it's the ballast...i'm going to look to buy a new magnetic ballast

Let me again express my thanks and gratitude to Steve (O Agios)...he was able to repair the fixture with a simple wire nut.

I can't thank him enough for his help!
