Should I remove this crab? Is there such a thing as beneficial crabs living in acro?

Thanks!

the rule with acro crabs is: fuzzy = bad, smooth = good. and it looks like that one is a fuzzy one, yank it out with some tweezers or something ;) good luck. :)

Yes, he is hairy ...and at a closer look he is sitting near a part of the acro that now looks like all polyps are gone in that area. The rock this acro is on can be easily taken out of the tank.

I have another acro with a "smooth" crab.. leaving him in there. How do these benefit the acro, or do they benefit it at all?

Thanks!

If it's hairy it's scary! If it's smooth it doesn't have to move! :)

good 1....

but remember the blue eyes toooo:rollface:

Do these crabs eat only the polyps? After removing him and taking a closer look at the coral, it looks like he has been going to town in the center of the coral. The pigment is not as green in this area and is more brown/tan. I hope it recovers.
