Basic, But Amazing To Me

I have a 12G JBJ Nano that has cycled for 1.5 months. Received my 1st ever shipment from Live Aquaria today. Went with a Yellow Watchman Goby, Pistol Shrimp, 6 Sexy Shrimp and 2 Scarlet Reef Hermit Crabs. Took be about 5 hours to acclimate everyone.

I can't believe what I'm seeing in the first few hours! Both of the hermit crabs immediately changed shells (Put about 6 empty shells in the tank). The Sexy Shrimp are all on top of one rock and my Goby and Shrimp are living under one section of rock. Every 2 or 3 minutes, I see a bunch of sand being thrown out from the rock! I know this is all common behavior, but to someone new in the hobby, its really exciting!!

Its absolutely uncommon to have a living box full of ocean in your house. I'm kind of glad i don't think I'll think of it as common..

that is the great thing about reefing,you will ALWAYS see something new IF you look hard enough.

Be careful with the pistol shrimp though,,, they are know to eat other ornamental shrimps!
