Batteries in tank

I have or should I say had, a liquid doser for my reef tank. It accidentially fell in overnight and I did not notice it until the next morning. My corals look very unhappy meaning that they are not fully extended. Looking at the batteries I can see that they are corroded and I'm sure there was some leakage in the tank. Is this something to be worried about? What can I do to coreect whatever damage has been done?

Thanks, I will put carbon in as soon as I get home from work. I will also do a water change too. The batteries look like they had rust on the outside of them. Fish seem to be OK. Corals not opening all the way.

id h20 change.
i put a9 vont in a tub of saltwater for fun once aftert a water change and the water turned brown... it does domthing to the water ( batery didnt leak but did corrode)

i dropped a 9-volt in the 800g sump of the 2000g system i help maintain last week and nearly needed to change my undies...it happened in slow motion...kerrrr-ploppppp...nooooooooooo!!!

took about 10 minutes to finally get it out as the sump is 5.5' deep. the top had corroded, but as mentioned, the battery itself was intact. this system runs a good deal of carbon 24/7 and there have been no problems. we are talking a massive amount of water volume, though. we do 200g weekly water changes. :)

I had a 9 volt in over night once. The pH got all out of wack and I had to do water changes to get it straight. I also ran carbon for a while.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I've put carbon in and I do weekly water changes. Corals appear much happier. Thanks again!
