Gresham,

We're working to see if we can put something together...

If anyone is interested in donating a frag or two to the club booth please email: webmaster@nvreefers.org (also everyone should have received an email announcement regarding this).

That would be great if you guys could make it out Jacob :) The entire idea behind BAYMAC is to bring all the clubs together for a day. Well, that's part of the idea anyways.

Water is free, you just need to bring everything else. You can also sell supplies as well, like glue, etc. heck, bring out baked goods even

For club 'booth' do we need to bring the booth? Are tables and chairs available? What is our limitation on space? Also if we (NVR) tell you we're coming does that mean a spot is saved for us or is it first come first served? In other words - if we end up being late due to an act of god or anything lesser are we going to lose our booth?

Do we just need extension cords to get power?

Any restrictions on food and drink that we can bring (just for the folks at our booth)?

You'll have a reserved 8x10 space. It's 100% yours even if you don't show up on time :)

You'll need to bring everything but water. Table, chairs, tank, extension cords, petty cash, etc.

No restrictions on food & drink. In fact, if your club wants to sell both at your booth, that is fine with us. You can't sell any liquor or illegal item though :)

If you bring food to sell, bring napkins and plates please :)

In case anyone did not receive the email that was sent and you're reading this here it is:

There is a large reef-related event happening on Sunday Nov. 23 in San Jose, Ca. NVR has been invited to attend. The event will include many frags for sale by local clubs at friendly prices as well as private individuals selling frags and used equipment. Essentially this is a large swap meet. There will be a raffle as well.

Participating clubs will have a club booth. All proceeds from the club booth go directly to the club, all raffle proceeds are split evenly among participating clubs. With your help NVR would like to put a booth at this event. We are asking for donations of frags which would be sold and/or raffled at the event. If everyone in the club donates 1-2 nice frags we would have the potential to raise quite a bit of funds for the club to be used in 2009.

Donated frags will be sold and/or raffled by NVR at the event. Prices will be set by the NVR team running the booth. 100% of the proceeds from donated frags will go back to NVR. Anyone who makes a donation will receive a receipt for the value of the donation that can be used as a tax write-off. In addition for each frag donated you'll receive 1 free raffle ticket to be used at the NVR Holiday Party this December. Frags can be LPS, SPS, or Softies.

We are asking for your generosity this holiday season to give something back to NVR. Right now a simple reply to this email with what you can donate would be appreciated. We will have the specifics of collecting donations worked out before the event. Of course everyone in NVR is welcome to attend the event as well.

If you are able to help please respond no later than 11/17.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To answer questions that have already been sent to me:
1) Frags can be any type of coral but please consider that the goal is to raise money for NVR. If you think someone will shell out cash for your frag(s) then iit would probably be a good donation, on the other hand pale brown polyps from under a rock in your sump might not be the most appealing to someone else :)

2) Mounted is preferred to unmounted but nothing will be turned down.

3) Frags should be just that, not large rocks as room is limited.

4) If you have pests in your tank (red bugs, flat worms, nudibranchs, etc...) please be up front with us about it.

5) You do not have to attend to donate frags, we will work out a pickup schedule before the date of the event.

I see NVR's reputation precedes us ;)

Thanks for the quick response. This is indoors, correct?

ALl but the Flea Market wil be indoors and if it rains we can house the Flea Market as well. The venue is pristine and can accommodate as many reefers as we can fit into it this time around. I think we can safely fit 700 - 800 between the two buildings we have, not to mention the parking lot :)

Here's a sneak peak into the venue (it's a wedding/event hall)

I don't have anything to donate :( but am planning on going. Anyone interested in carpooling? I'd be willing to donate some baked goods for sale since I have no corals to frag.

Let me know what I can do to help!

Raffle Update:

Caribsea has donated a bunch of product, and I mean a bunch. They put in ARM Coarse (Ca Reactor media), ARM XCS (Larger Ca Reactor media), Mineral Mud, Purple Up, Reef Cal, Buff +. Aquatic Biotic Boost and Phos Buster.
