beginners clam

Im thinking of adding a clam to my 55g reef. How hard is it really to keep happy? Im thinking of getting a Squamosa or Deresa. Are these good choices? My tank been set up for over a year and Ive got 260w pcs. I want to do alot of more reading before I finally decide.

The Squamosa is a good choice. I got a Squamosa as my first clam a couple of months ago and it's doing great. I put it directly on the sandbed and it seems to like it's spot.

If you were to get a Maxima, you would most likely need to place it higher up in the tank.

Try to get a clam that's bigger then two inches long, too. I've had rotten luck keeping smaller clams alive.
