Best heater to use..

I'm looking at replacing my heaters in my tanks, ad thought I'd see some apinoins on what other people think is the best heaters to use.

My old setup was okay with my heaters, but now that my system's larger I need bigger/ more heaters.

Here's my setup, 100G main tank, 70g Sump about 3/4 full, and 25 Refuge. I will mostlikey be adding a Frag tank again. so add 30g to the total.

I'm putting heaters in the Sump area only. I hope that will be enough. One issue is that my sump and refuge are in the garage and I live on the west coast Bay area. It get's around 55 at night and in the summer it peeks around 75. So keeping the tanks warm is a little hard.

Thanks

I am using two EboJagers and a Visitherm. Both are excellent IMO. I am also using a ReefKeeper controller to control them. I don't think you can go wrong with the EboJagers. :)

I'd recommend almost any heater EXCEPT Ebo Jager.

Any particular reason?

The new Ebo Jager models are manufactured by EHEIM. Normally this company produces very high quality products, however the heaters have had its issues. Do a search, I think there was a thread discussing current problems with these products. In addition the new Ebos are not fully submersible like the old versions were.

I have been using the Won Pro-Heat Titanium heaters with the digital read out. I have found them to be reliable consistent, and very convenient. I did have one fry on me but it was my fault due to an accidental water spill.

Good to know. I am using older Ebo Jagers and have never had an issue (3 years and counting).

Ebo-Jager. Mine are 5 years old........but I don't use them anymore. No heaters for me. I have read that it's the new ones that have glitches.

eee

I have been using ebo jagers for 20 years without any problem, now IÃ"šÃ‚´m trying the finnex titanium, seems to be as good

but not the Won Pro-Heat Titanium digital they are so bad IMO

The thermostats are way off on all 3 i have. One 250w is 10degrees low, the other 250w is 8degress high, and the 50w is 6 degrees high.

I had 2 ebo-jagers and am just getting ready to replace them with a Won-Brothers Titanium! Got an awesome deal for 20 dollars shipped on e-bay.

Thanks everyone for your thought's. I've used EboJagers. That's what I have right now. I have the older models as well. Yes, I agree the temp nob is way off, but hooked to a controller I don't really care. I'll look into the Finnex Titanium and Won-Brother and see what I like better.

I think all heaters are pretty cheap. Whichever ones you choose, i would ALWAYS suggest plugging them into a controller. I use a Ranco.
