heres a question i bet has never been asked. who sells the best lr? premium aquatics, dr. fosters, jeffs exotic fish, and too many others to list. i have read alot of good things about premium aquatics, but i have also read good about everyone of them, so everybody please give me your opinions. thanks alot.

I got mine from www.saltwaterfish.com, and have been completely satisfied, but I am sure there are tons of places to look into. Also, check out the selling forum on reef central, there is alays someone getting rid of liverock. Who knows, you might be able to pick up a few pounds locally at a fraction of the cost.

There are some other good ones also. Premium Aquatics has been nice to me. Dr. Foster and Smith has nice rock, but it wasn't porous enough. Premium had nice rock with unusual shapes and sizes.

Then again, my work has satisfied me the most;)

I've always had good luck finding LR at LFS. I was able to find soem real nice Fiji, and Tonga rock for my Nano. From what I've seen tho, if you're gonna get it online, then Tampa Bay Saltwater seems to have the LR with the most life on it....

well, i got my LR from premiumaquatics. very nice rock, great customer service. one of the reasons why i like PA for LR for a nano is they let you order any amount you want. a lot of places sell the LR in certain sized lots...25lbs or 40lbs or whatever. PA will let you order 1lb of LR if you want.

the TBS and other aquacultured LR that is similar is nice rock with tons of life on it, which is great if your setting up a FOWLR, but IMO if your setting up a reef the shape of the rock is by far the most important thing, and all that life on the TBS rock just gets in the way.

my father-in-law ordered some LR from Dr Fosters, and i gotta say that both he and i were disappointed (he was probably more disappointed then i was...it went into his tank after all :D) with the LR that he got. that being said, i'm sure that there are plenty of people who have got their LR from Dr Fosters and are very happy with it.

FWIW, and i'm not sure what size tank we're talking about here, but on all of my future tanks i plan to set them up with a base rock/ LR mix. reefer rocks has some very nice looking BR and it cost a fraction of the price of BR. just an idea, if you wanted to save some cash, but if you're setting up a nano it may not be worth it.

HTH:thumbsup:

I received mine first half of the the package (LS & LR) from TBS a week ago and the rocks were great with lots of life (including one mantis) plus Richard is great in terms of responding to phone and emails.

I would definately buy from them again.
