Tagareef,
Are the Sanders units controllable by themselves (without an ORP controller) or are they strictly on/off like the Enaly's?
Sean
you can contol the out put on them...

Sean,

Yes...what Gabriel said and showed.

I am only using the little 25mg model (got it in a frag trade at the lfs) and have found that using low levels of 03 actually enhances skimmate production. I tried using 50mg per Eheim on my 902 and it didn't produce ANY skimmate for the 2 days it was hooked up!

After reading a thread started by explorer364 in the Deltec forum, I decided to try the low level 03 method. He was injecting low levels of 03 into the input of his skimmer via a Venturi with great results.

The orp in my reef has always been high, so using a small Sander gives me more peace of mind that I won't overdose.

The rheostat on my Sander is only at the 50% mark. The crud in the skimmer cup has always been totally rank, but now it's even worse (if that's possible)!

Luis

Thanks. :)

I use a Enaly right now but don't like the fact that is is only on or off.
It is on an ORP controller but I want that to be a back up failsafe and not the only failsafe.

Luis I am using a sander 25mg model for my deltec hang on. This is only on a 55 gallon fish only system with cooked live rock. I do have a a high bioload of fairy wrasses (Flame wrasse, Laboutei wrasse, Lanceolatus wrasse, Pink margin wrasse, Pylei wrasse, mystery wrasse, rosy fin wrasse). I am using my ozone at full strength, all 25mg being pushed through my prima air pump. Would you say that I should run it maybe at a quarter of the 25mg? If you run the ozone full strength would that impair the protein skimmer from collecting the gunk? Just wondering.

If your happy with the skimmate production of your MCE600, I'd just leave it the way it is. If you think it could be better, try setting the Sander at 50% for a day and see how it compares.

Another thing I've noticed about ozone use is that it keeps the Venturi nipple on the Eheim clear. I've got ozone only going into 1 of the 2 pumps. The one with ozone never clogs up...the one without needs to be "reamed" every few days!
