Best place for clam in BB tank

I know clams like to have their foot anchored to something...usually sand...but how and where are the best places to put a clam in a BB tank? Should I just find a good/flat spot on some LR?

It depends on the clam, maximas,& croceas like to be on the rock in my tank, but having a BB reef on the glass or starboard would work.Derasa's,Gigas,Squasmosa,& Hippopus clams like the sand.

If its one of the clams that prefer being on the sand i recommend taking a small plastic tub and fill it with LS and then place the clam in that.

My clam is a crocea...I put him in a nice spot on the LR and he is openedup...we'll see how he does in the next few days.

thoughts on a plate of sand in the tank...if I made an acrylic "dish" maybe 6"x6"x1" and put some LS from my fuge.....would this ultimately become a dump and breeding ground for bad stuff? would I have to change it eveyr once in a while???

I placed my crocea right on the starboard. It anchored itself and has been there for over a year now.
