Best product to treat Black Ich?

Hypo treatment is the best way to prevent and kill ich. I don't recommend products which so call cure ich because it doesn't garentee to cure ich like hypo does if you do the process correctly.

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for the input. I think you may be confusing black ich with normal ich. I haven't heard of hypo helping with black ich, although it definitely is my choice of treatment for normal ick.

I am currently using a product called cure-ick which contains formalin. From what I have read on this subject any product containing formalin is supossed to cure the disease. I have down two treatments so far and seen some improvement. I can tell you more in a couple of days.

Yuppers. I did my first formalin bath using a product surprisingly named "Formalin" by Aquarium Products. $1.69 for 3/4 oz. It looks like it should treat about 200-300 gallons.

The results were good. All the black spots were gone from the tang after a 45 minute bath. No signs of trouble in the bath or back in the QT. The tang was eating within 15 minutes of being back in the QT.
