I know this is for marinedepot drygoods, and I have not had any problems with them, but I think its time you change your name or tell marinedepot live to shape up.

They all seemed to die within 3-4 weeks. These are the only corals that have not survived. At first I chaulked it up to my own fault, or my tank, but it happened to three seperate shipments. Plus these are the only corals that have not survived in my tank.

I also ordered a yellow leather 3 times, the first two were figi's as pictured the third was nothing of the sort. It was stubby mustrard colored leather. It does not matter they all died. Neadless to say no other corals in my tank have died, and I have consitenly purchased and traded throughout the same time period.

I was not even tha upset until I finally wrote them an email and asked for some sort of an explanation.

The next post is the exact email I sent to them, they did not respond. I then emailed them againt to get a response. and no answer.

I was simply ignored!!!!!!

Beware of live.

here is exactly what I wrote to them with no answer. Unreal

hello,

I have been dealing with you guys since I started up with my reef tank. It has always been great, always got good products, great nice and prompt service. I like your selection and you have very good prices. But you have to be tell me what has been going on with my live orders.

I know you guys have these stay alive guarantees, but what is goin on with the corals I get from you.

about 4 or 5 months ago I ordered several corals, fish and anenome. One of the corals wa sthe yellow leather. It was great bright yellow, with 24 hours it turned brown disintegrated and died. All of the other things did fine. You guy were great you told me it probaly had a bacterial infection and credited my account for the coral.

I waited a little while my tank seemed fine and I placed another order and took another chance with another yellow leather. This one seemed fine jsut as nice as the first one. This one died two weeks later the same way as the first. It was outside the stay alive guarantee and I figured maybe it was my tank, despite all other corals in my tank doing fine.

Well That was all 4 or 5 months ago. I palced anothe rorder about 3-4 weeks ago. It was a small squamosa clam, a green tip torch, and yes you guessed it another yellow leather. I know I must be stupid but now. I am just setting myself up for the fall.

Well take guess what happened. I got the yellow leather and it looked nothing like the others I had gotten, it was thick an dblunt, not bright yellow but mustard green. It never really opened, instead it just kept sticking out these thick poles (I guess the close polpys).

So as I bore you with this long frustrated email Ill tell you what happened next. I noticed about 10-14 days or so after I got the coral the green tip torch started to disintegrate. Yep, the green torch. ( the green torch never So I fragged it back to 1 head in hopes to save that one head. It survived for another week then started to disintergate.

Well, belive it or not I was ok with this, not happy but ok. But then my closed up stubby not really yellow leather which I was hoping would just settle in and open up is not. It now is disintegrating from behind at the stalk. it has white flakes just coming off of it and is slowly beaing eaten away from the rock. The cap although ugly seems ok but I am sure within a short time it will be gone too.

Should I take this yellow leather out frag it trash it?

Now, I am sure you can understand my frustration. I basically just payed $126 for a 2.5 inch squamosa clam, which by the way is doing great.

I kept chalking these bad things to luck or my tank, but all the dead corals came from you guys. I just got an acropora its doing great some xenai, happy as can be, zoos and the clam all fine. I also have other LPS, other softies, like toadstool etc. shrooms, fish. All are doing just fine, but all of these mysterious deaths are all linked back to marinedepot. DO you have problems like this?

If you made it to the end of this email I commend you, but please any help you could offer me would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
Chris

Just to be completely objective this is the second email I sent to MaribedepotLive

I guess you guys don't not even have to reply to customers anymore. No wonder your reviews are so bad on the message boards. I suppose when the drygoods department has to distinguish themsleves from the live division yyou kno wyou have problems.

I look foward to spreading the wonderful new on how you simply ignore customers.

I'm only distinguising, because I just wanted to show I'm not passing the buck. I'm just not in a position to answer marinedepotlive questions. I apologize if it came across differently. It's late in the day and my numb fingers just are not as verbose as usual. I hope my response is proof I'm not here to ignore you but to get your email responded to.

Just to be more clear than my opening sentence, I know this is not MarineDepot Live. I had already read that thread, but you are owned by the same company I take it?

And this seems like the most logical place at this time to share my experience with Live.

Once again, I have never had a problem with drygoods.

I also gave Marinedepot Live, two weeks to answer me. I think that is fair. Don't you? Instead, I was ignored.

I also cut and pasted exactly what I wrote, so people that actually want to read this dont get a different take.

Yeah, I understood you. I just had to make sure you did not take it as passing the buck.

I am in no way saying that the blame is not on MDL. The only way it is not their fault is if they responded. As a customer, you have every right to expect a response with one business day. The sooner the better. Personally, I try to respond to customer emails ASAP.

I sent the email to them already. I anticipate you should get a response tommorrow.

cthedaytrader,
This is Jim from over at Marinedepotlive.com, and looking over your post, it is evident that communications are lacking, in the fact that e-mails sent to you have not been received. Personally, I responded to your e-mails on 7/8/2003 and 7/17/2003, and evidently you did not receive these e-mails. As we are having these problems, I have called your two numbers that we have on file and have left messages for you on both numbers.
Jim Newman

I had a great conversation with Jim Newman the other day. I belive that the lack of responses was due to a communications problem. I am very happy that my faith is being resotred in marinedepot live. He called qucikly and returned my calls even faster. We went over my tank and the corals, and it appears that there may have been problems on both side. He is doing a great job on remedying the situation, and I look foward to dealing with marine depot live in the future.

Thank to marinedpot for who monitors this forum for conveying my messages to live

Chris
