I ve heard to add this to my tank to cut cycle time down is this rtecommened at 10 dollars an ounce I will be adding 9 ounce

I'm always skeptical about the "fast cycle" products. I'd just add the live rock, and wait. I suspect that product won't do anything.

I've used something like it nine months ago, and again 3 months ago on another tank with great over night results. Mike

I added fish and corals the next day, and tested water twice a day. Had no spikes at all.

There are a lot of things happening when the tank is cycling. Adding anything that will speed up and impede this process will leave the tank out of balance as far as bacterial cultures and other chemical processes are concerned etc. This in turn will only prolong the process of the tank ââ"šÂ¬Ã…"œfindingââ"šÂ¬Ã‚ its natural balance and stability. I would avoid it if I were you.

I heard good results from it when compaired to cycle however it is hard to beat live rock.

I've set up more than one tank that never showed an ammonia spike. Nothing required but live rock with minimal die-off.
