:inlove: That is really nice! Any updates?

Little bit of an update on mine, LED's are showing sweet growth...glad I ditched the MH. Im running around 96watts throughout the day for the whole tank. I had to raise my lights because they were bleaching corals. Heres some updated shots. No fancy equipment....just waterchanges and a ball of chaeto in the back with a 9 watt PC bulb (which also aids in warming the tank) Also, since im mostly LPS and soft corals......decided to ditch the koralia evo 450, it was too much flow. So now its just a MJ 1200 for all the water flow.

20 lbs of live sand in the refugium (about 35 lbs total)
phenoix 20k bulb
Koirila nano in refugium (flow for cheato)

some other good stuff:
*Cyano alage is gone :)
*ALOT of refugium life (small pods, and other little bugs and etc (local reef club said all of which are good)
*clownfish is kind of hosting my anemone
*alot of corliane alage

Just purchased a JBJ 28g with LED lighting can't wait to start to set it up any tips would be appreciated

sell it and get a biocube 29 HQI:beer:

kiddin
but get a lifereef sump/refugium if oyu have $800 burning a hole in your pocket:spin3:

So you recomend a sump,Can it be drilled?? I went with the LED"S because of the heat issue. and after a visit to our LFS that has total LED"S over all of their reefs Thought I try them

Mpevine11,
Who built your fuge? I would love to do that to my 20 HQI.
Another idea is instead of a hang on back overflow, how about drilling the bottom and using a pipe about 6" tall and having a direct overflow that doesnt loose suction?

Here are my Moon/ LED lights...
2 current powerbright strips...
I have them rigged with zip ties as of now, but after the holidays I will fix them...

i do plan to drill the tank when i empty it to move out (of parrents house)

I had Lifereef.com build my sump/refugium and i absoutely love it!

my HQI light stays on 6 hours a day. and the moonlights come on .50 hrs before the HQI and stays on .50 hrs after the hqi turns off
my refugium runs oppsite of the HQI light.

i'll get some up dated pics soon for all you guys

I have had my HQI on for 7 hours a gave and I was giving my coral light shock... I just put some screen over the top of the tank and cut the HQI back to 4 hours until I get everything back and cracking again...

Water change day!!!

I guess that I might be running my HQI too long. 9 hours a day. I am going to reduce it by 30 mins a day until down to 6 hours. What do you all run in the down times, just the moon lights?
@ mperine11, I'm gonna check on the fuge. its bad to the bone.
