BIOCUBE 29 HQI owner thread.

Yeah, its a kit from rapid. Its not the biocube kit, its just the 24 led kit. I wish I would have bought the dimmable drivers......but eventually I will get there. I just wrapped it in balsa wood and painted it black. looks legit in person. The Mag 5 will serve you well, they are great pumps. Are you planning on running a skimmer?

I'll have to join the party I guess.

It's been set up for about a month so far.

Tunze ATO
Aquatic life skimmer

I love the ATO it sucks when you forget to turn it off when you are dripping a new coral though haha. Its very sensitive and i would say i never see my water ever drop more then an 1/8 of an inch. Right now im running about 10 sheets of parchment paper on the glass to get the frog and torch used to the lights. Hopefully they will warm up to it over the next month or so.

Just ordered a biocube 29 hqi and stand today. I cant wait for it to get here! I'm breaking down my 40 gal and going to this.

I hope so had to convince the wife to let me get it. I told her it would be great visual stimulation for our son we are having in march! I will post pics of the set up and so on

help!!!

help!!!

Are you guys experiencing that the current in the tank is blowing your sand all around? My tank has an empty spot in the bottom left front corner (Looking at the tank, same side as power head) I never had this with my 14G BC"¦

i have same issue. how do i fix it?

need some help.. new the hobby. and i have some dumb questions
i have a 29g biocube hqi and started tank 2 weeks ago. what is the best kind of water for topping off?
also have a rotating return pump but it is causing the sand too move too much for some reason. bust to type of flow pump and how many? i see some tanks with one on each side.
also is it advised to replace with a media tray? have standard system with biocube filter.
is the stock biocube stuff ok? and upgrading filter and pumps just better?
sugestions for upgraded: pump, skimmer, and flo?

I added a Vortech MP10 and I get great flow and all of my corals are happy. I don't buy the stock trays any more and have taken off the the filter fabric off one of the trays, removed the carbon and added my own carbon and buy filter pad and cut it to size. Works better and saves money. I do plan to go with an intank mediabasket eventually.

Not being able to leave things alone I upgraded my skimmer and pump as well. The pump I am running is the maxi-jet utility 1100 pump and aquaticlife mini skimmer and I have a very healthy aquarium for a year now.

Ty and any continuedvsuggestions and recommendations are appreciated. Dealing with all stock bio cube stuff. Also best a cheapestvplacevto buy. 3 weeks Sunday. Can't wait to get CUC and then fish and coral.

I change my filter pad every few days, an the media in the bags maybe once a month. Except purigen that says it lasts 6 months

Planning on doing a reef tank. Do I need an additional flow pump and how many strong? 29g tank. Also best place to place it? I have seen a lot of people put them on the opposite side of the tank butbthatbwould be right in front of the skimmer holes.

Reef cleaners can help you with the CUC.

As for flow that depends on what corals you put in there. Some like flow, some don't

Ballast

Ballast

Can it stay in the tank stand or will it get to hot. I just started mine and after a few hours it is very hot to the touch.
