Mid-Week Update:
I got my moonlights in! Best $14 i've spent on the hobby so far. Digikits.com folks.
Also, as I previously mentioned, my stand is now cleaned out and has space for my future ATO reservoir. I moved the HQI ballast to the outside of the stand, it was getting hot inside the cabinet (not that I really think it was adding to the heat in the tank, just thought the open air would be better for the ballast). I also mounted the MP10wES Controller on the wall adjacent to the tank. I included photos of how I mounted the LED moonlight strip.
I did a water change yesterday, checked my water parameters today:
Salinity: 1.025
Temp: 79~80
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: ~5ppm
Calcium: 420ppm
Later this week I'll be working on my 80mm fan addition and will be adding photos of installation and wiring. I'm confident that the fans will allow enough cooling without needing a chiller, and just in case the fans work even better than expected, and living in Ohio with fall approaching, I figured i'd add a 100w heater now . I haven't plugged it in yet, just mounted in chamber 1. When I notice the water temp start to drop below 77 I'll power it up. I'll also be receiving an Alk testing kit later this week, so will start to post that. I'll continue to monitor the calcium levels throughout the next couple weeks, but I can't help but notice the SPS frags I have in the eggcrate rack are still browned out. How long does it usually take for them to recover? Are there any more tests I should be doing to ensure solid water quality?
I have my lighting schedule as such:
2:30pm-9:30pm: 150w HQI
10:30pm - 1:30pm: Fuge Light
(one hour gaps to ensure the water temp can stabilize a bit)
LED Moonlights are just manually controlled for now, but will likely be on 9:30pm - 2:30am.
