Hello , I'm starting a 170g sps dominated system looking to really stock with heavy bioload , sump will be close to 80 gallons . I was planning the Bk mini 200 , would that be a great choice ? I've had 2 bk mini 160 before and loved them thats why Im choosing the 200 .any info is greatly appreciated

The mini 200 would be a great choice for that size tank and load! Set the pump speed to 28-32w and you will be set! Just fine tune the speed of the pump to get the most dense foam possible and sometimes, less is more when it comes to the pump speed since its all about contact time!

You really cannot go wrong with either. If space permits I would probably go with a double cone 200 since the pump is outside the body which makes routine maintenance easier.

Both mini and DC should be good. Thst being said, My system is similar to yours. I started with bk mini 200, but after 2 years i Switched it with BK DC 200, much better performance, easier maintenance and easier fine tuning.
