Black film inside UV housing

Hello, has anybody experienced a black film inside their UV?
if feels rough inside the housing and you get black water when rinsing out the housing? Is this dangerous? Would this leach metals into an aquarium?

I would NOT use it!
Take it back to store or contact MFG.

It sounds like housing is not UV compatible, it could crack.

It sounds like the plastic is being degraded by the uv light

What they said. Unfortunately it is a normal occurance and I've seen PVC UV housings get so thin I can squeeze the housing.
