wow close race, if you look at threads and polls froma year ago or longer black was the in thing, I guess people havve started to go back to clear lol

Yes, Elos and ADA build their tanks this way and they are top of the line in the industry.

As another option, Green Leaf Aquariums does this very well. They're local to m and I've seen it in person. I haven't seen an Elos in person, but this seemed VERY similar to that picture and it was a fraction of the price.

I just ordered a 4x2x2' with 1/2" glass. The tank maker is going to put a triangular glass rod on the join to increase silicone contact area, so the silicone strip would not be a thin one I suppose. I think it will be in the upwards of 1/2" on each panel, possibly up to 1".

In this case, what colour do you guys think looks better? I went with clear, someone please stop me before it is too late if you think it is not a good idea. :D

I think with the rods, clear is the better choice.

Anyone want to post some pics of their silicone rimless tanks after a year or longer black vs clear? lol

Im about to start my new tank and i think that im going with clear silicone, its more natural to me, but anyone want to post pics of "old" clear or black silicone?
thanks
