Blood Red Fire Shrimp

Hi,

I have found conflicting info on these shrimp. Some say they should be kept in small groups and others say that they should be kept singly or with a mate only. What are peoples experiences with them? What is recommended?

Thank.

i have mine with two cleaners, a mated pair of golden boxer shrimp, and host of other inverts with no problems whatsoever. he only comes out when i feed the tank. this is in a 260, but i've seen these in groups and singly with no issues. mine hangs out with the cleaner shrimp and cross paths without incident regularly...

I kept one, year later added the second - no particular conflicts, they stay together, but new was more active and dominant. Both started to have eggs on the regular basis.

One of them was more robust built dark red, good as cleaner for a fish, and another - slender elongated bright red, more interactive, reluctant with the fish. I had read, that this could be an age, but I tend to think that they are from different areas - none of them changed with age.

I had one for almost over a year until I had a alk problem and killed him. He was great. Housed with other shrimp. never any problems. Beautiful shrimp recommend it. From what I hear 1 is great, 2 is great also.
