Blue cloves

So I picked up a blue clove frag and it was doing quite well. Didn't really do much research on it prior to, was an impulse buy picking up another frag. Wife loves it. Well, I placed it at the front of my DT and while scraping the front glass, I didn't pay attention and accidently bumped/rubbed the back of my knuckle up against it. After a day or two, i noticed it starting to die off. Over the past week or two it seems to be spreading. Was wondering is there a way to stop the dying or just hope it doesn't die off completely. Wife is bummed as it was one of her favorites, but after researching the threads, it seems I may have averted a blue clove outbreak in the tank.

Thoughts? (In case you can't tell, the clove is in the middle of the pic at the bottom)

I would be pretty surprised if rubbing against it caused it to get hurt. I would be looking at other causes, maybe a temp or ph swing. Usually once these start to grow they don't stop.

Update: Since the post, it has since grew back over itself so all the white in the picture is no longer visible. In fact, it has started to grow off the frag and on to the rock base now. Worried about the unstoppable growth though. I mean I guess it's more of a preference right? Would you rather see rock or see blue clove? My only concern is if the rapid growth prevented other corals from thriving, which , if that was the case, would make this more of a pest species than an actual one you would want displayed in the tank?
