Blue or black tank backgrounds

Has anyone ever used a background on a clams only tank?Any thoughts on this? I'm thinking it might distract from the clams.

i had a black background on my clam/sps tank for a while. think that it helped to bring out some of the colors of the coral. but since the clams are really meant to be veiwed from the top i don't think it would make much of a difference.

i had to take it down because my anthias kept attacking its reflection in the glass.

go for the black background. It brings out the color in any tank in my opinion. I did try blue but it just did not look right to me with the color of my fish and also the clams that I have.

I used to have blue on my previous tank. It looked alright. I now have a black background (came with the AquaMedic tank). It sure does help contrast the coral colours etc. Fish stand out. Ie the yellow tang really stands out against the black background. :)
