Blue or Black

This is driving me crazy, my last tank had a blue backround, I am thinking of going with a black backround this time, is this a mistake.

It's a matter of opinion. I prefer a dark blue as I think black looks blah. But a lot of people love black. Look at pics and choose the color that you feel best about.

My tank has a black back, though a real dark blue looks real nice, as well. I just painted a thin sheet of acrylic, and slid it behind the tank. If I wanted blue, I could just slide it out, and put in a blue one.

I like dark blue. Actually, I like it when it's very deep blue at the bottom and gets slightly lighter towards the top but still dark blue there too.

I found a background like that, and use it on my 38g. Not sure how you would duplicate it with paint though.

I did a poll as you are doing before I painted my tank last winter. Based on general consensus and having seen what it looked like, I painted my glass black. If I had to do it over again.... hmmm... would go with a very, very dark blue.

I painted mine black but it turned to pure corraline anyways, so I may have well just painted it purple.

People don't foget, once it is painted, that's all she wrote, so I want to make sure, maybe it will be dark blue, this hobby can be a bit nervewrecking.
