Blue Skimmate being produced, Why?

My Skimmer is churning out Blue Skimmate What could this Be. I would love to post a pic but don't know how to. I just remodeled my basement and painted. Could this affect it? If someone knows how to post a pic I will send them over one

there was a post a while ago of someone else with blue skimate...he had a photo on his thread. Not sure if they ever figured out why his was blue or not but you may try to find it. I would find it for you if search was not as lame as possible.

MyMonkey may be right, do you have any blue corals? That would be my first guess.

I've heard of this once before and I think they narrowed it down to something he was dosing. Have you started dosing anything recently?

no, I have changed nothing, and I have not used blue paint, the blue paint has been cured for two years where the tank is. I only have LR no corals. I sent a pic Ronkent

What foods are you feeding and what additives are you using?

That is the samething that happened to me. Melev thought it was from the food pellets, I think it was Forumla 2. But I didn't use them? I was using a additive to help the biofilter establish called Stability, thats what I think caused it. It looked like blue kool aid to me.

I feed, formula2 & Spectum pellets, Nori, Frozen angel formula two different kinds Hikari and SF Bay Brand, Mysis shrimp same stuff fpr the past year. I add Garlic and Selcon nothing else

I use Kent Marine Coral Vite and do not get blue skimmate.

it turned out to be the food
I think it was Formula 2

I've only seen it with SeaChem calcium supliment
