Blue spot vs. Yellowhead Jawfish

I know that the blue spot is more expensive, but is the blue spot more aggressive than the yellowhead. My yellowhead just died today, he may have died from a fight with a six line that battled him everyday. I want another jaw, but I would like one that was a little more aggressive. Does anyone have any opinions on this?

I've heard of a Blue Spotted eating a firefish so I would say they CAN be pretty agressive, but I have a Blue Spotted Jawfish and he is very peaceful. He is a real people watcher! His only aggression comes when snails crawl into his burrow and he has to shovel them out. I don't know much about the Yellowhead, so I couldn't say whether he would be more agressive or not. I do think the extra money is worth it for the Blue Spotted just because of their personality, but you MUST have a tight fitting lid!!! They are notorious jumpers and is probably their biggest cause of death in home aquariums.

I've had both & I would say that the bluespots in general have more spunk than the yellow heads. They will eat fish. One of mine ate a yellow clown goby right in front of me!

6-lines can get aggressive & when they do, they might not be good tank mates for any jawfish. You don't want it harrassed so that it feels like it need to relocate it's hole. This will cause stress which in a bluespot will lead to disease & death.

My last bluespot jumped when my cat put a paw on the tank, he never fully recovered and finally died.

As Texas Aggie 06 said, cover you're tank, one person put it well when he said that "maybe not today or tomorrow, but eventually this fish will jump from your tank"

The yellow heads, though also jumpers, are a little less jumpy than the bluespots especially after established.

Oh, BTW, did i mention that bluespots are jumpers? :D
