Both Koralias burned out after 19 months: normal?

hi Everyone

I've been using a couple of Koralias in my 95g SPS-dominated reef tank, and I loved them. They were both on times, so they went on/off once per day.

After 19 months of usage, both burned out. I disassembled the propeller unit, and reassembled it, hoping it would recharge & come back to life, but no luck.

So, my question is: Is this normal? The Koralias are covered in Coraline algae, but they worked faithfully. Should I expect that they'll burn out after a year or two? Will I be better served if I take them off the timers, and keep 'em running 24/7? Your thoughts?

Let me know. Thanks in advance.
