Okay, I recently bought some Featherduster worms for my tanks.

I am trying to get an ungodly amount in each of my 90 gal tanks.

So far this is the second one of 12 to have died.

And he fell right onto my Bowerbanki colony.

So, the colony is feasting on wormflesh.

I will try to get another pic in a few hours or at least in the morning.

A couple of update pics as the worm is eaten.

The first one was taken around midnight.
This one was taken at 1:30am.

This one was taken at 2:30am.
Looks like one of my serpent stars is trying to get a piece as well.

I don't think your feather duster is dead. It lost it's head and withdrew into it's protective tube. I don't believe your coral is getting any food. If you remove the feather duster from the coral in time it will most likely regrow its head.

I may have to take back what I said earlier. I didn't notice the serpent star in the bottom right hand corner. That feather duster may be dead.

It's out of it's tube, maybe not dead but VERY stressed and well on it's way, even with out the bowerbanki devouring it. :)

Well no mistake, its dead. I found the body of the worm lying at the base of the coral and it was just a stringy mess. All the skin and most of the flesh had been eaten away from the worm. The crown is still in the Acans mouth. So I will leave it there until it is dropped or the acan is finished eating. The body literally fell apart when I tried to remove it.

You dont want to know.

But it was worth every penny.

Here it is with just the tiniest piece of the crown still visible.

Took 15 hours, but the worm is gone.
(I kinda scooped out the stringy remnants of its body this morning)

WOWZERS! Can't believe the bowerbanki could eat something that size! You don't need to feed that one polyp for a long time!

Airinhere, I bet you paid a pretty penny for it :D Nice coral though

Great shots airinhere. Your not alone with featherdusters. Ive only tried about 3-4 times but I think the longest kept out of all of them was only about 6 months :(
Let alone keeping them with a fatty acan with an appetite for destruction! :D
