Brain Coral Dying Help!!!!!!

Well I went away for a week and I come home to an algae/cyano infested tank. My brain coral seems to be receding (Half the tissue is gone) and I was wondering how I can get him back to full health again. Do I do a iodine dip??? Please help! TIA

Avoid picking, prodding, dipping, force-feeding, medicating, or otherwise messing with your coral. It won't like it. Manually remove/siphon as much of the algae and slime out then do a cuuple substantial water changes.

Don't do over a 50 percent water change though. That could really mess things up. Limit your feeding in the tank. More food leads to more nutrients which leads to excessive algae growth. Good Luck!
