i was on vacation over the thanksgiving holiday and my anemone decided to move while i was gone, apparently the anemone walked over a closed brain coral. i dont see any signs of tissue damage.

is there anything i can do besides keep my water quality good, and hope its ok?

also i have continued trying to target feed this coral since i got it a little over a month ago and it still wont release any feeder tenticles... something im doing wrong?

thanks for any info

If the anemone did any damage (sting) to the brain, you'd know it by now. My BTA has walked over everything in my tank, open and closed brains, clams, zoanthids, you name it, and hasn't stung a thing to date.

My two favias act differently when it comes to extending feeder tentacles, but I'd say you have nothing to worry about. One opened regularly when I fed for the first 2 months I had it, then I had no luck getting it to open for the next 8! months, and now it's opening again. The other has never opened, though I have a brand new shiny powerstrip that I'm going to put all of my flow through so that I can turn off everything and lay food on top of my lps that have never opened. Hopefully I'll see some results from that.

Don't fret, as long as the flesh looks healthy you're most likely golden.

thank you for the reply, sounds like it should be okay then, i will continue to try target feeding every few days see if i cant coax it to eat yet.
