Brain coral with white squiggles on bottom of base--it looks health--the squiggles almost resemble the squiggles that come out of an anemone when it is dying--what is this?
ok how do you know what the bottom looks like? he should be place on sand and thus not give you a clear image of bottom. do you mean you see it extending from bottom? if so may be just worms from the sand ..no worries..........if its tissue it may be stressed. new addition>?
Sounds like mesenterial filaments. They come out of many LPS when they are trying to attack something near by or when aggravated. Do they look like this?
Sorry for the crazy post--just a little concerned came home this evening and I saw these things coming out the base--i lefted it from the sand--it's skins is fine, but the sides have squiggles--weird--something happened while I was gone--perhaps a power head went crazy--and tore some of its skin--its coloration is fine--strange strange strange
dont touch it! you added to its stress..never touch a coral when its looking bad just post the description and it may just be normal behavior. any movement by touching is a stress that can kill a coral!

Glad that's it. Sometimes it just take a pod walking by to get some LPS ticked off enough to send them out. They will even put them out from their mouths if there are very aggressive feeders.
