my brain coral has closed up and will not open. did a water change a week ago and that didnt change anything.
0 nitrates
0 nitrites
300ppm alk
8.2-8.3 ph
water temp 77-80
its on the bottom of a 21inch deep tank with 2 96watt pc lights. sometimes it will start to open but then closes back up. it has done this before but only for a couple of days then it would open up bigger. it has been a few weeks now and i dont know what to do. any info would help.

Is anything picking at it? Pigmy angel or tang maybe?

i have a yellow tang in with it but they have always been together and i dont see him picking at it.

Do you feed him anything ever? Maybe a good dose of phyto and zooplankton might elicit a feeding response??
How long have you had him?

i have had it about 6-8 months. i feed phyto and when i feed brine shrimp i make sure it catches some.
