brain skeleton showing

I bought a beautiful Brain Coral (Wellsophyllia) it has some skeleton showing and seems to be receeding further. I tried feeding it a silverside and it didn't take it. Any tricks to these, I had one before for 2.5 years with no problem. Water perams are great.

Try feeding it something smaller like mysis.

I agree with trying the mysis, smaller portions of food are easier for corals/anemones to digest anyway.

I think your in the wrong thread!

make sure it is in low flow low light, i think this matters more than what your feeding.

the brain is next to the corner of the tank. One of the returns is pointed to the top of that corner, perhaps it is getting too much flow as it is reflected off the glass.

Try reducing the flow. It can tear them off of their skeleton if there's too much.
