Jason, what K-rating are your bulbs? I know this sounds ULTRA lame, but just by adding a bit "bluer" of a bulb, even the "tan" zoanthids I had seemed to turn to a richer hue of brown (like dark chocolate) just from a switch from 10k to 14k.
This, of course, is moot if you have 50/50 PCs. If that's the case, maybe get new ones? Newer PC bulbs burn a bit bluer from my experience.
I know this wasn't a lighting question that you asked, but I've always noticed that all the softies in my tank colored up when I replace bulbs.
FWIW, I DO have like four single polyps of these cool turquoise colored zoas that made it through the ice-storm. Once they get their numbers up, I'll trade them away. They were about the only thing in my old tank that I didn't give to folks - AND NOW, because I was greedy with them, none of my fellow reefers have any of them to frag back to me! :bum: So, now I vow to frag a lil more often once my tank has fragable corals...

I am currently running two brand new (last week) 65w 03 actinics, 2 old 10k daylight, and two old 50/50's.. When I replace the other bulbs, I am also gonna add two more actinic's, and change the 50/50's to 10k's.. so the I will be running 4 actinics, and 4 10k.. all 65 watt PC's.

Once I get more corals in the main tank, im gonna set up a frag tank in the basement under MH... lol, what my neighbors are gonna think..I know this is off topic, but that reminded me of a story I read the other day on another forum. This couple was supposed to meet someone in a parking lot to buy some frags from,.. anyways, they went up to the wrong guy, who knew nothing about our hobby, and said "are you the guy selling the frags?" anyhow the guy thought they were there to buy drugs, and caled the cops. The cops came, and without thinking, one of the hobbyists said "were just reefers, here to buy some frags".. A fun one to explain to the cops.. lol

I made sure that my landlord at my old arpartment knew what was up. One of our neighbors here at our house asked me if we had a tanning bed a few weeks after I got my halides :smokin:

lol, Enjoy them. I have yet to find any.... But after my new additions yesterday, I need to buy more LR before I get more corals. Have plenty of room, but im out of ledges...
