Any opinions on this product, brightwell aquatics nitratr? Is this different then bio pellets? Can it be used in a 3little fishies media reactor?
thanks
Jeff

Right, we just do not know chemically what it is, and have not otherwise heard of effective nitrate absorbing polymers used in seawater. I'd personally be a bit surprised if it works well.

I am currently using a coil denitrater which has lowered my levels down to close to 10-20 with my cheapo test kit. I think I will get the ole deep sand bed bucket out and get it fired up again.
thanks

Do you have any threads to link to that details how you dose your choice of vinegar?
thanks
Jeff

I just read through the article by Genitics and was wondering if the dosing amount is the same for vinegar as it is for the vodka that is covered in the article?
thanks

I tried that route and started to experience some stn with my corals and within a couple of weeks I couldnt keep them from clumping using a converted three little fishies reactor with a 1200 maxijet.

A rough guide is to use 8 times as much vinegar as one would use of vodka because normal 5% acidity vinegar is much more dilute than 80 proof (40% ethanol) vodka. :).

No such problems here but I use dedicated bio pellets reactor, recirculating. Powered by eheim pump (2000+), there is no way they would clump :-) Been running it for a year now. Before that I was carbon dosing too.
Corals are doing better because water quality much improved. The only coral I have problems with is goniopora.
