brown slimey algae

i have a 55 gallon tank thats been set up for 2 years now, i recently restarted using my canister filter after not using it for about a month, i cleaned it well and restarted it, 2 days later i noticed a slimey brown algae growing on everything from corals to sand what do i do. ivebeen keeping my salinity slightly lower to try to stop it, here are my tanks parameters:
lighting sunpod 2x250w
filter fluval 305 only carbon and pads cleaned once a week
skimmer red sea prizm cleaned once a week
water flow hydor koralia 1 and 4
temp 74-78
salinity 1.022
all levels perfect
