brs reactors fit 1/2 barb fitting

Tee'd off of my return I have a manifold with ball valves and 1/2in barb fittings. If I buy brs reactors will that work fine with just slippin the tube on the barb? Or will I need to get the other type of fitting for the 1/2 mur lok polyethylene tubing?
