Need some advice about bubbles streaming from my skimmer. it's a reef octopus bh1000. tank has been up for about 2 months. 37gallon. skimmer was working fine. had a case of cyano, used chemiclean (worked great!) changed 8 gallons, mega bubbles! changed another 15 gallons, still mega-bubbles!!!

what am i missing? i cant seem to get it regulated properly.

also, what to do about the thing overflowing everytime i have to turn it off to empty the collection cup.

:headwalls:

They should disappear after a couple days. You should turn your Skimmer off for 24hrs. Then do a water change. Them turn Skimmer back on.

Using treating cyno always causes extra foam. Nothing to worry about.

thanks for the response! per label directions, i kept the skimmer off for 48 hrs then changed 20%. then changed more.

anybody have any experience with the reef octopus that could tell me why the thing overflows (onto the floor) everytime i turn it on? i cant find a whole lot of info on their website.

Run some carbon for a little while. To remove any leftover stuff from water.

You still got some chemiclean left in your water. Your Skimmer is a teir 1 Skimmer so it should work well to get the stuff out of your tank water column.
