Buffer solutions for digital pH tester

Do I have to buy buffer solutions for a particular brand of pH tester ?

LFS gave me different answers and most don't carry these stuff.

Would you please give me the correct answer.

Thank you all.

I am not quite sure what you mean by buffer solutions. If you are talking about the calibration fluids, you will need to consult the manual that came with your PH tester. Most, however, are calibrated with a PH7 and PH10 solution (at 25C). Don't think any particular brand is required as a Brand A of PH7 solution should be the same PH as Brand B PH7 solution.

Hope this helps

Thank you for your quick FB. My bad, yes, it's calibration fluid and

there are fluids specificly made for the one I have. However the

prices for some other bands of pH solution are considerable lower.

Please advice if you have any particular band in mind.

Thank you !

7.0ph calibration fluid is going to be the same no matter where you get it or who makes it. Save your money for something esle and get a cheap one. Your ph device should be calibrated already anyways.

Ironicly, I ran accross that article last night browsing the Chemistry forum. Was just too tired to post on this tread. Glad someone else beat me to the punch.

I guess the moral of the story is "Buy Cheap - Get Cheap!"
