Bulb choice

Well yesterday I ordered a Ushio 150W 10K DE bulb for my 29 gallon. After looking over Sanjay's page I decided that this bulb had the best color spectrum for the amount of PPDF. Did I make a good choice? I think so but I havn't had much experience with MH.

Um... well yeah, thats a great bulb...
But you do know its really yellow/white dont you?

supplimenting with any actinics?... just curious....

Yeah I was going for growth. After it burns in I will decided whether I want to add supplimenting or not. I like the shallow look

W/O actinics on, it looks a bit yellow (I'm running Ushio 250w 10k SE). I tried a Ushio 175 20k SE on my Quarantine and I hate it. I replaced the 28 watt actinic PC bulbs with 10k PC and it balances the color a bit better.

I donÃ"šÃ‚´t like ushio, they are just too yellow for my taste.
I use radiums now with PFOHQi ballast and the color is awesome, also the acros are coloring up very nice.

ushio on magnetics are great IMO and will last a year

yes IMO . But like I said on magnetic. Since mags overdrive them the yellow doesn't come out until they are old.
