I originally posted this question in the lighting and equipment forum but have gotten no response.

I own a coralife 4x65 watt pc fixture.I've replaced the bulbs a few months ago and now i'm trying to do some homework on the subject.
If replace the bulbs with the same k rating and pin style, does it matter who the manufacturer is?I've found replacements for almost half the price.Or do you get what you pay for?

this is original replacement

For what it's worth, I just got new bulbs from catalina. It was an overall good experience, the bulbs got here fast and look great, and fro 15 bux a bulb, can't beat it. Their shipping is only $7.00. That is reasonable, I got 3 bulbs from them and it cost me $52.00 delivered to the door, not a bad deal really. I know that in a LFS the 65wPC go for about $34.00 a piece.

I use Current Sunpaqs now. I like their dual bulbs. I went Dual Daylight half 10,000 k half 6700 k and the half 10,000 k half 460 actinic. They give you a lot more flexability and are suppose to be 3 times brighter and last longer than the competition. I like mine. 2 96 watt bulbs 81.00 shipped from Dr. Foster & Smith.

I thought i'd also add , my fixture is a catalina so I assume the bulbs were too. The fused center part between either side of a bulb was about 4 times wider on these Current bulbs. My catalina 10,000 k burned it through in less than a year. I don't know what it hurt. I guess it's just there for support.
