Bulkhead Questions

I posted this in the DIY forum but also thought I would ask locally.

I need two 1 1/2" bulkheads for my new tank. I want the kind that will take a strainer screwed into the inside and pvc glued (not threaded) in the outside.

Where do you usually buy these for the best price?

Are the schedule 80 bulkheads necessary or worth the extra cost?

SCH 80 is not necessary, it is mainly personal preference.

Which is a great thing because the last time I needed one in a hurry I had to go a non-saltwater store to get one. And, of course, I was using double slip variety in my overflows and all they had was the double threaded, so I had to purchase extra fittings as well. :rolleye1: I think LFS's stocking bulkheads is a great idea. Way to go GWA if you've got 'em! :thumbsup:

Yep... GWA had alot of them when I was in... Down this way Andy's usually has a few as well too.

Marine S has all sizes of bulk heads in stock all slip if I'm not mistaken.
