Buying water in San Francisco?

It seems like Ocean Treasures moved. After I had my tank made by them, I bought water there all the time. They just moved and temporarily are not selling water until they are setup again.

Are there any alternatives in SF for high quality salt water? Someone told me I can buy from 6th Ave, but Im hesitant to use anything but a high quality for my tank. At OT they had a TDS meter sitting on the wall where you can see exactly how clean their water is.

Thanks in advance!

I think Steve is cheaper than the others also.. Search par38 on Craigslist and you will see his ad for his store.

Thanks for the reply! Stupid me, shortly after I posted this, I check on Ocean Treasures website and it says they are setup now and they are currently open for limited hours to sell water, but will expand shortly.

Danny from Ocean Treasures now has a location he shares with a jelly fish company in the Dog Patch - 2575 3rd St, SF. 415.861.9100

They keep regular hours ~10 to 5 ish. $1 salt, $0.75 RODI. He only sells water but has a beautiful 120 display tank.

Hey Doug, They actually just moved a month ago, which is why I was temporarily displaced. Daniel has been a godsend and can really make works of art with his tanks. He called me yesterday as he saw this post and let me come by last night to pick up some water. I got to check out his new warehouse. Its still a little rough, but their business is mainly building new systems and caring for them, so it was never meant to be retail. They just sold water to the public at the Jellyfish warehouse because there was a need for it since shops kept closing in the city. The problem with doing retail in his new space is that he doesn't have it manned at set hours for retail, since his guys are all in and out in the field. So for now he hired someone for limited hours, just because he didn't want to see SF people without a good water source.

He also mentioned since theye dont really make money selling water, he will probably slowly develop a retail area to sell more products. He asked me if I thought there was a need for a supply store such as an eco-friendly reef re-fueling station. Where you can get all your dosing, medias, foods from bins with re-usable containers. I thought that was a great idea.

Anyways, the new warehouse is at 1720 Armstrong Ave Unit A2 about 1 mile further down third st where he used to be. There's no sign up yet, but he has one of the Jellyfish guys come in on Wednesdays from 3:30-6:30 just to sell water. Ill definitely continue to buy water there and support our local businesses. If you catch Daniel while your there, he is an encyclopedia of reef knowledge!
