Hi ive recently moved and having a hard time finding a refill for my 5# co2 cylinder.normally i would go to a welding supplie store but there 30-40 miles away. There is a paint ball place a few miles away charging $.20 per ounce.(no idea what the final price would be.)or if it is usable.
Any ideas on other places besides paint ball and welding that use c02.

Every local bar or resaurant uses C02. The coke, pepsi, or beer vendor can trade you tanks out, or get yours charged. You can even charge your smaller tank off of one of their larger tanks with an adaptor.

Bean

To fill his smaller tank from a larger tank, He will have to invert the large tank or the large tank will need a dip tube. This will fill the smaller tank with liquid and not just gas.

Thanks for the replies.I checked into all the above ideas you guys had.but seems there all in next town 30-40 miles.
I did get ahold of the paint ball place and he assured me there is no oil in his tanks and swapped out as needed.I assume he swaps out his tanks when empty or by the sound of it.But he said his gas is as clean as anybody elses and only $8.00 to fill mine.
So while i'm still alittle leary about it.I'm gonna give it a go.

I bet his are filled at a fire extinguisher place. Most PB fill stations get it there or a welding supply. It all comes from the same place.

Yup. he had like 4 big cyclinders he worked from.as they empty he has them replaced.
On another note he wanted to know why i asked if if he added oil to the tanks.i told him the concerns/rumors.and he said he had never heard of that before.Since he claimed to the inventor of the 3 shot at once paint gun,i figured he might really know,But he said the little pellet gun cylinders just may have oil.

The inveter of the 3 shot at once. Hummmm. I have been in PB since the late 80s and I have learned that many of the PB guys are as full of it. Sound like he is no different. :D I am sure his CO2 is OK though.

lol, you make it sounds like you live in middle of nowhere,
i'm in a suburb of atl, and its that far to anything i want to do..lol.
At least a co2 refill is typically about a once in 6mo ordeal.
local place that fills for pb here isn't so hot, its equates to a lot more money if they could even do it, they don't have adapter to fill it.

airgas or pye barker, was 17 bucks,
beverage control was 9.00
I'm sure the gas it took to drive the extra distance was more than 8.00 worth at 2.69 a gallon.

I do kinda live in the middle of nowhere,Upper UP of MI and new to the area.very small town.1 traffic light:D. 40 miles @ $2.90 one way gets costly for C02.But for living where i've moved, the biggest bummer is there is no real reef stores within 4 hrs:( But a few of the best mail order are within 6-7hrs.
