Ok I'm a ways away from needing one but we have some extra acrylic tubes, 4" dia and the machinist can build me one. Problem is I need some specs to give him. I don't know a thing about them yet, but the material and machine work is FREE. I checked some of the diy photos but I dont know where to put fittings or sizes. Any help on this would be appreciated.

First , you need to choose a pump so you can figure out the fittings? Eheim? Mag pump? Iwaki?
And look at all the reactors that are sold out there and choose the one that you like. This will give us an idea of how to help you.

Here is a CA reactor I built that is well within the abilities of a usual DIY'er. I found it to be very good and have run it for over a year. Check it out Here

Let me know if you have any questions.
