What kind of door styles were you looking at? For the raised panels, I just buy it online because you would need a nice costly router bit/shaper to make those.
You can also create interesting designs making a mitered 'picture frame' of molding and gluing it to the door. There are also predone wooden medallions, etc. Even fancy furniture uses the like.
i placed the 3/4 oak plywood onto the front and clamped it on. i then went in throught the back of the stand and with a pencil drew the door frame. I cut out the two doors. I then put a border one inch wide trim around the doors to hide the cuts. these doors are removable for great access. your lowes or home depot will have the pieces need to make the doors removable. It looks great becuase the front still has the natural grain connecting minus the one inch borders.
On an old stand I built ..... I used 1/2" x 3" oak with lap joints lap joints at the corners and a rabbeted lip on the inside edge to accept a piece of 1/8" oak plywood. They matched the rest of the stand and were fairly easy to build.
