Calcium reactor media turned black

Hi,

I had to shut down my calcium reactor for a couple of month due to a move. Now I am ready to restart my reef tank, but my calcium reactor media turned black. Is there any way to save the media?

You could try rinsing it in some vinegar. Muriatic acid might work, although it's dangerous to handle. You could try adding one part of acid into 10 parts of water, and then using that to soak the media for a short time period, maybe 5-10 minutes, depending on the size of the media.
