Calcium test results from AWT -- HELP!

I would ask them (AWT) since they are supposed to be the experts and you (we) are paying a premium price fpr their service and stated accuracy. I would also ask Habib in the Salifert forum. You might want to try a HACH, elos, or LaMotte kit to verify????

The phosphate vs. goodwins hanna seems promising. All are almost within the Hanna +- .04 accuracy alone.

Their response to the calcium discepency seems to be purposely confusing....?? He spends most of it talking about possible errors in calculations, to then go on and say "these calculations have been pre-prepared for you",,, so then it is not user error.. is Habib wrong then? he does not give any real reason why they could be off. So does habib have it wrong in the chart? Are they saying Mg can interfere..? Confused.

The reagents are another story and an easy unkown to point to, but from all acounts Salifert has not had any problems with their Ca tests. This would also be less of a factor since you used multiple kits.

I think I will be sending a sample in and run it through my kits also. In many cases I have 2-3 for certain parameters including a hanna.

I have compelte faith in Lamotte and Hach as my "hobbiest kits", if anything they have confirmed it going to them for advice :D

About phosphate: their test might be total phosphorus. The Salifert kit includes only orthophosphate and not organic phosphorus.
.

After chating with a friend who is a waste water management engg... You are right on the money, polyphosphates are not determined by the traditional testing methods, like salifert testkits and such, which only measure orthophosphates..... So I guess AWT measures both types.....
He also mentioned that polyphospahtes can be hydrolyzed to orthophosphates, which may explain why some get closer reading and others don't. In my case, since I sent in new mix, all forms of phosphates were polyphosphates(synthetic).... which salifert didn;t measure, but AWT did...
