Close-ups are blurry. I have an Olympus digital camera and have the flash turned off. Do I need a tripod? Tips?

RC has a Photography forum that would be a great place to ask this question. There are plenty of people that can point you in the right direction.

And yes, a tripod does help in some cases.

You may need a tripod if you are too shaky, it definantly makes a differance. The other thing you need to be aware of is the focal length of the camera lens you are using. I don't know about the Olympus, but when I tried to use my parents new rebel with the lens that came with it. I could not take a pictute of something closer than like 18". Look on the side of the lens and it should tell you what the focal length is for each setting.
