Last saturday a friend was over and attempted to take pics of my mantis. In response the mantis retreated to his cave, and hasn't come out in a week+. Did my friends camera/face make the mantis crawl in a hole and die ? Is eight days excessive for molting ? Should I tell him his face is a killer ?

Mine stays hidden for a couple weeks when it molts, so it might be. He doesn't like cameras either. I can stand and watch him come right up to the glass like he's checking me out, but get that camera and he's gone.
