Can anyone verify that my plumbing plan checks out?

The tank will be a 40B connected to a 29 sump.**

Ill be using a low profile overflow box with 2 drains from the tank and 3 to the bottom with the bean animal conffiguration.**Im thinking this one[https://synergyreef.com/product/16-shadow-overflow/].**Ill connect vinyl tubing to it with a hose clamp. The vinyl tubing will drop straight down into the sump.**

I'll drain tank water into the sump to simulate a power outage to see how many inches of water leave the DT and enter the sump.**Once I know that I'll glue my baffles in (and probably cut them to make them**shorter first).

In my sump I'll have this return pump [Jecod/Jebao DCT Marine Controllable Water Pump https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SQX5CEW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_UDjLEbXVMM6W7].**I'll connect 1 inch vinyl tubing to it, and use a hose clamp to secure it.**The tubing will go straight up to this U-tube [https://www.marinedepot.com/u-tube-with-directional-return-1-2-inch-3-4-inch] which the vinyl will be secured with another hose clamp.

My question is, should I also apply silicone the threaded part of the bulkhead and return pump and barbed fitting to U-Tube before heating the vinyl to put it over it?**
Is vinyl tubing inherently more risky to a leak than hard plumbing?
Does this seem like a safe (non house flooding) plan?

No, but a hose clamp over the top can give you peace of mind.

Yes. A hard pipe may leak, but it isn't going to 'burst' like a vinyl line.
